The Hawkfest is held every year on the third weekend in September at Lake Erie Metro Park in Rockwood, Michigan. The hawks and falcon were part of the Michigan Hawking Club who had an exibit and allowed everyone to photograph some of their raptors. The birds were in excellent health and the handlers were great. The sharp-shinned hawk was trapped by one of the rangers, shown to the kids and then released by one lucky child to fly off again!
